Lailatul Qadr (Night of Power and Value) is the 5th episode of season 2 in Upin & Ipin
Summary[]
Upin and Ipin appreciated the meaning of Lailatul Qadr from Opah, they intended to be in the mosque after being told to study more things than the basics like reciting Quran. Meanwhile, Ehsan and Fizi arrived at the mosque and invited Upin and Ipin to play fireworks, but the twins refused to accept their invitation. In the meantime, it sounded like the fireworks explosions.
Plot[]
The story starts when Kak Ros told Upin and Ipin to put on the Eid Lamps after they prayed the tarawih. Upin asked his sister about what kind of lamp that they should put on, and Kak Ros said that the lamps were under the house and she prepared the lamps just now so that the twins just to hang them. However, Ipin had an idea about playing with fire and was about to lit a match, but Kak Ros remided him to not playing with fire.
Upin then asked why they should put on the lamps now, even though it's not even Eid yet. Kak Ros said that a week later they will celebrate Eid. Upin was surprised, saying that they managed to fast the whole month this Ramadhan, unlike Kak Ros (due to personal reasons). Hearing so, Kak Ros' temper began to rise, however Opah advised the twins to not tease others.
Upin then told to Opah that they didn't feel tired of fasting and didn't feel hungry at all. Opah then said that "fasting will get easy when you're used to it and then you'll enjoy it", just like what she said before. Opah then asked why the twins haven't put out their lamps yet, because everybody else already did it before them. But Kak Ros then said angrily to let them forget to do it so they'll regret for missing Lailatul Qadr (the Night of Power).
Ipin then asked what's the night of Lailatul Qadr means, and Opah responded to him saying that it is a special night for Muslims, "better than a thousand months". She told that the angels will be sent down to Earth and with God's permission the night will be full of bliss until dawn,and so to celebrate the Lailatul Qadr,we must light up their houses as brightly as possible. While Opah told the story, the twins felt bored, and Upin blamed Ipin to make Opah lecturing such long stories. Opah then advised them, however Ipin pretended to have stomach-ache, and so does Upin to secretly run away from Opah's lectures, but Kak Ros prohibited them to run away and told them to sit down and listen to Opah.
Opah then asked to the twins why the angels sent down to Earth. Both of them answered "We don't know" lazily. Opah told them that the angels were sent down to write down all of the good and bad deeds done by everyone on the few last nights of Ramadhan. She then making an example using Upin and Ipin, saying as the angel: "Upin and Ipin, lazy yet still playing with firecrackers..." The twins were surprised. Opah (as the angel) then said that they won't have any good deeds.
Upin responded that they fast and pray, and what more that they should do to have good deeds. Opah then said that salat and fasting were compulsory and a must for Muslims, but she told to them that they should do more good deeds like praying, asking for forgivness, tadarus (reading the Qur'an), and mengaji (attending a Qur'an school) together. But Upin asked how they should do so because they've learned the basics only. Opah then said that it's okay to learn the basics, even listening to people reciting is also a good deed and a form of worship, so that's why Opah told them to not pray at the surau. Kak Ros agreed, reminded them to salat until the end, unlike yesterday, saying to them only know playing. Upin then said yes to Opah and promised starting tonight they won't play during prayer anymore.
Opah then said those who are dutiful on Lailatul Qadr,praying and asking forgiveness to God will be forgiven of their past sins. But Upin "arrogantly but innocently" said that they're still kids and didn't "do any sins". Kak Ros then feels annoyed for their arrogance and told them to put on the lights at once then go to the surau.
Arriving at the surau for tarawih,the twins got called by Ehsan and Fizi,so the twins came to them. Fizi said that he brought some fireworks and told them to play after the prayer. Upin however told them that they couldn't play fireworks because it will disturb people during prayer. However Ehsan told them that it's gonna be alright, saying that they will play far away from the surau. Upin still rejects them, saying he wants to recite the Qur'an later. Fizi was surprised, saying that he only learned the Arabic alphabet (the Alif Ba Ta) only. Upin engaged them to join them praying, but Ehsan didn't want to saying "playing fireworks is more fun".
Suddenly, Mail came, saying why did the twins didn't invite him, and so they engaged him. But Mail rejects, because he didn't know what to do. Ipin then said that Mail must have to do the prayer and recite, but Mail left them to go playing with Ehsan and Fizi.
During prayer, when the twins reciting the Qur'an, they heard sounds of fireworks played by Ehsan, Fizi, and Mail. Kak Ros told them to be silent, and so they continue reciting. However, from afar, Ehsan shouted at Fizi (possibly a warning), but it was too late. A firework was already launched while Fizi somehow cried in pain off-screen. Hearing Fizi's voice, the twins tried to go outside to see what's happening, but Kak Ros told them to don't move, and so they keep reciting the Qur'an, while wondering what really happened to Fizi...
